In spoken English we use a lot of short form. Instead of "I am" we say, "I'm". "You are" becomes "you’re”, “Was not”- Wasn’t, "Did not" - "didn't”, “Do not”- Don’t, “Does not”- “Doesn’t”. “Shall not”-“Shan’t”, “Will not”- “Won’t” etc. These form are called contraction

Use the following contraction when you speak and carefully listen when other do

AM/IS/ARE + NOT
*Am not=ain’t .
Is not= isn’t
Are not= aren’t
I am=I’m
*He is=he’s
We are=we’re
You are=you’re
They are= they’re
There is=there’s
It is=it’s

WAS/WERE+NOT
Was not=wasn’t
Were not = weren’t

SHALL/WILL+NOT
*shall not=shan’t
Will not=won’t
I shall=I’ll
I will=I’ll
We shall=we’ll

They will=they’ll

HAVE/HAS/HAD+NOT
Have not=haven’t
Has not=hasn’t
Had not=hadn’t

HAD/ WOULD
I had=I’d
