TENSE PART –1 (VERB TO DO = Subject কিছু করা বুঝায় )
The word Tense is from the Latin word Tempus, which means time. English marks tense in verbs. The tense of a verb shows the time of an action or event.
Tense শব্দটি ল্যাটিন শব্দ tempus থেকে এসেছে, যার অর্থ সময়। ইংরেজি verb tense চিহ্নিত করে। একটি ক্রিয়া কাল একটি কর্ম বা ঘটনা সময় দেখায়।
English has three tenses:
1. Present বর্তমান
2. Past, অতীত
3. Future ভবিষ্যৎ
Present :The present tense refers to the moment of speaking
Past :The past tense refers to a time before the moment of speaking.
Future :The future tense correlates with time later than the time of speaking.
Each of these three main tenses has four forms:
i. INDEFINITE TENSE: ( Has been taught At Use of Verb to Do এবং Verb পরিচিতি Lesson)
ii. CONTINUOUS TENSE: (the progressive )
iii. PERFECT TENSE:
iv. PERFECT CONTINUOUS :
Here is an overview of tenses which students can use for quick reference.
PRESENT INDEFINITE TENSE :
A present tense form made without any auxiliary verb. The simple present tense is used to talk about permanent situations or about things that happen regularly.
Sub + V (present form)
EXAMPLE
a) The sun rises in the east.
b) Does the sun rise in the east?
c) The Sun does not rise in the east.
d) Does the Sun not rise in the east?
Water boils at 100 degree Celsius.
John works at a factory.
I get up at 7 am.
PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE:
The present continuous tense is used to talk about temporary actions and situations that are going on.
It is made with --------------
Subject + am/ is / are + verb + ing form.
They are playing.
The baby is sleeping now.
I am working.

He is hiding সে লুকিয়ে আছে

PRESENT PERFECT TENSE:
The present perfect tense is used to talk about actions and events which are in some way connected with the present. It is a verb form made with ----
Subject +has / have + past participle form of the verb.
I have finished.
She has arrived.
PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE:
The present perfect continuous tense is used to talk about actions and events which started in the past, has continued up to the present and is still continuing. It is made with
Subject + has / have + been + -ing form.
It has been raining.
She has been working all day.

It has been raining since Monday.
