 Use of INTERROGATIVE “SUBJECT” & INTERROGATIVE “OBJICT”

INTERROGATIVE “SUBJECT”
When interrogative words (Who-কে, What- কি, When-কখন Where-কোথায়
Why- কেন Whom-কাকে Whose-কার Which-কোনটি How-কিভাবে How many- কতগুলো How much- কতগুলো) is used instead of a subject/ indicate subject of a statement or assertive sentence then it is called interrogative subject
e.g.( “for example.”)
I. Abu comes. ---- Who comes?----- ( ‘who’ is used for ‘Abu’)
II. Abu doesn’t come---- Who doesn’t come? ----- (‘who’ is used for ‘Abu’).
III. They go to market----Who go to market? ------ (‘who’ is used for ‘they’).
IV. They do not go to market.---- Who do not go to market?----( who’ is used for ‘they’)
V. An accident happened yesterday------What happened yesterday?------(“what” is used for ‘an accident”)
VI. Heavy cold felt there.--------What felt there ?-------( “what” is used for “heavy cold”)
VII. 50 people help me.-------- How many people help you?------( “how many ” is used for “50 ”)
VIII. 50 students come here----------How many students come here?------( “how many students” is used for “50 students”)

INTERROGATIVE “OBJICT”
When interrogative words is used instead of an” OBJECT” / indicate OBJECT of a statement or assertive sentence then it is called interrogative object. But before using WH-word we should transform the sentence into Yes/No Questions. {These type of questions are designed to be answered simply with either “YES” or “NOT” They start with a verb or helping verb followed by the subject.}
 He went to market to buy fish in the morning?
 Did he go to market to buy fish in the morning?
I. Where did he go to buy fish in the morning?
II. Why did he go to market in the morning?
III. When did he go to market to buy fish?
NOW LOOK AT THE SENTENCES BELLOW
How many students know you? INTERROGATIVE “SUBJECT”
BUT
How many students do you know? INTERROGATIVE “OBJICT”
Which poet of Bangladesh do you like most? INTERROGATIVE “OBJICT”
How many students of this class speak good English? INTERROGATIVE “SUBJECT”
BUT
How do the students of this class learn English? INTERROGATIVE “OBJICT”
What circumstances compel you to go there? INTERROGATIVE “SUBJECT”
BUT
What do you like? INTERROGATIVE “OBJICT”
